In 2026, Penta Hospitals Clinical Research celebrates a remarkable milestone – 20 years of activity in the field of clinical research in Poland. These two decades represent consistent efforts toward advancing modern medicine, opening new therapeutic possibilities, and providing patients with access to innovative treatments.
The history of clinical research within Penta Hospitals began in 2006, when the first clinical research unit was established within EMC Instytut Medyczny S.A. in Wrocław. We started with urology and gastroenterology; today, we support patients with our knowledge and experience across many other fields, including dermatology, diabetology, neurology, psychiatry, and more.
In the following years, research activities expanded beyond Wrocław to other regions of Poland – including Poznań, Katowice, Świecie, Piaseczno, and Gdańsk – forming a broad and well-established network of clinical centres.
Over 20 years of activity, Penta Hospitals Clinical Research has conducted more than 500 research projects across diverse therapeutic areas, enabling patients to access innovative treatment methods already at the development stage.
These efforts have translated not only into scientific outcomes but also into tangible benefits for patients. Owing to the participation in clinical trials, many drugs and therapies that were once experimental are now used in everyday medical practice – improving the quality of life and health of people in Poland and worldwide.
The quality of clinical trials conducted at Penta Hospitals is confirmed by positive audit results from study sponsors and leading CRO companies. Long-term collaboration with global scientific partners ensures continuous access to the latest test products for our patients – especially those for whom previous treatments have not been effective.
Today, Penta Hospitals operates 7 clinical research centres located in the largest cities in Poland—Wrocław, Poznań, Gdańsk, Katowice, Piaseczno, and Świecie. Each of these centres is fully equipped and prepared to conduct studies in accordance with the highest standards of safety and quality.
The 20-year history of clinical research at Penta Hospitals is, above all, the history of the contribution to the advancement of medicine. The organization not only conducts research on new drugs and therapies but also actively develops Poland’s research potential through its distributed network of centres.
